Despite that though, using Duke's weapons and gadgets is still enjoyable, and being able to traverse Duke's mansion where there's a ton of material for Duke Nukem afficiondos to enjoy is a treat. Duke's brass persona and the shooting action are reason enough to give DNF a whirl, even if the game's puzzle elements and a majority of the driving elements feel stale and at times flat out boring. That being said, there's still enough here to enjoy to warrant it worth checking out. After going through numerous game engine changes and developers behind it, the end result is that Duke Nukem Forever feels like a mish-mash of FPS games that have come and gone in the time the game has spent in development.
